To: All JCPenney and Eckerd Trading Partners

Subject: EDI Interconnect Guidelines and Final Schedule [Revised]

Revision: Due to communication line capacity concerns, the schedule for re-directing all Eckerd IDs from Sterling to QRS is being delayed until Tuesday, August 6, 2002. The originally scheduled date was Tuesday, July 23, 2002. This effort does not directly impact our trading partners as it is coordinated by the EDI Service Providers [VANs].

The redirect of the JCPenney IDs to GXS has been completed on the originally scheduled date of Wednesday, July 17, 2002.

This bulletin is an update to the June 13 bulletin titled "Transition to Preferred Network Service Providers' [click here to view].

EDI Network Service Interconnect Guidelines

Trading Partners who choose to utilize the services of a third party interconnect VAN [a VAN other than GXS or QRS] to exchange EDI with JCPenney/Eckerd will be handled as follows:

All JCPenney trading partners will interconnect to GXS.

All Eckerd trading partners will interconnect to QRS.

Exceptions: selected third party VANs will interconnect to QRS for 'both' JCPenney and Eckerd trading partners. These selected VANS are as follows:

- ICC NET [NTMAIL]

- E-Com Systems [ESMAIL]

- Advantis North [SEMAIL]

- Fountainhead Communications Inc. [FHDMAIL]

EDI Network Service Interconnect Schedule.

The interconnect schedule has been adjusted slightly so that full staffing will be available to allow for monitoring of interconnect transmissions. This will allow us to identify and resolve any problems that may result from the transition. The new schedule is as follows:

JCPenney Trading Partners

All third party VANs [exceptions noted above] will be instructed to re-direct their interconnects for JCPenney IDs from Sterling to GXS effective Wednesday, July 17, 2002 at 12:00 PM [noon] EDT.

Eckerd Trading Partners

All third party VANs will be instructed to re-direct their interconnects for Eckerd IDs from Sterling to QRS effective Tuesday, July 23, 2002 at 9:30 PM EDT. [Revised to Tuesday, August 6, 2002.]
