This text file contains the import instructions for both UPS Online

UPS ONLINE PROFESSIONAL

-----------------------

 

These instructions are designed to assist you in loading the store

Locations file onto your UPS Online Professional System.  You’re first

Step will be to start your UPS Online Professional system.

Once you have gained access to the shipment processing screen you

Will be ready to import.

 

You will need to create a custom Import template.  The Import/Export

feature allows you to transfer information between your UPS Online

System and other applications/ programs.  The Import dialog box

appears when you choose the Import/Export command from the Admin menu

on the mail tool bar of your UPS Online system.

 

1. Click on the Admin menu.

2. Choose Import/Export option.

3. Choose the Into Table pull-down menu, and select Consignee

4. Click the Define button

5. On the top line (it should be blank), type the word JCP IMPORT

   (This will be the name of your new custom template).

6. Click on the Mappings tab at the top of the screen.

7. Click somewhere inside the External Table (the table should now

   have a yellow background).

8. Click the Remove All button.

9. From the UPS Online Table click on the following items

   and Add each one to the blank External Table (in this order):

 

             Consignee_ID

             Telephone

             Name

             Contact_Name

             Address 1

             City

             State_Prov

             Postal Code

             Country

             CB_Indicator

             RLA_NO

             Null

 

     

                 

10. Click OK.

11. Click on the Import Processing drop down list.

12. Choose Overwrite Existing Records

13. Click OK.

 

You will now be prompted for the name and drive of the file

you are importing.  Place the data diskette into the A:\drive,

change the list of file types to "All Files (*.*), and choose

the file named UOL_JCP2.TXT or UOL_JCP3.TXT listed there. The system now will begin importing your information, while advising you of the number of

records being imported.

* Start Computer

* Put import disk into disk drive

* Start UPS Online WorldShip

* Select   UPS ONLINE CONNECT   from the menu bar

* Choose   CONNECTION ASSISTANT 

* Click a dot into the round radio button next to  IMPORT DATA INTO UPS ONLINE WORLDSHIP/CREATE A NEW MAP FOR IMPORT

* Click NEXT

* Click a check mark in the box next to SHIP TO

* Click NEXT

* Click a dot into the round radio button next to BY FILE

* Click BROWSE

* Change Files of type to   TEXT FILES (*.TXT or *.CSV)

* Type   A:\UOL_JCP2.TXT or A:\UOL_JCP3.TXT in the File Name box

* Click on OPEN

* Type in upper case   DSN   in the Data Source Name (DSN): field

* Highlight   MICROSOFT TEXT DRIVER (*.TXT;*.CSV)  in the ODBC drivers list

* Click   NEXT

* Click a dot into the round radio button next to  NEW MAP

* Enter   JCP   in the New Map Name field

* Click  NEXT

* Click  FINISH

* Click on   OPTIONS>>

* Select   *.TXT  from the Extensions List

* Click   DEFINE FORMAT   button

* Select   UOL_JCP2.TXT or UOL_JCP3.TXT from the Tables list

* Click a check mark on the box next to  COLUMN NAME HEADER

* Click on the   GUESS   button

      NOTE: The following error message may pop up if you are running WIN98 or

            WIN NT operating systems - "Failed to save Table attributes of Null to

Null."  This is a Microsoft related issue, just ignore it. Click OK or Enter and Continue.

* Click  OK

* Click  OK

* Highlight  CUST_ID   on the left UOL_JCPx.TXT table, Highlight  CUSTOMER ID  on the right Address Book Table, then click   CONNECT

* Highlight  TELEPHONE   on the left UOL_JCPx.TXT table, Highlight  TELEPHONE  on the right Address Book Table, then click   CONNECT

* Highlight  COMPANY   on the left UOL_JCPx.TXT table, Highlight  COMPANY  on the right Address Book Table, then click  CONNECT

* Highlight  ATTENTION   on the left UOL_JCPx.TXT table, Highlight  ATTENTION  on the right Address Book Table, then click  CONNECT

* Highlight  STREET   on the left UOL_JCPx.TXT table, Highlight  STREET  on the right Address Book Table, then click  CONNECT

* Highlight  CITY   on the left UOL_JCPx.TXT table, Highlight  CITY  on the right Address Book Table, then click  CONNECT

* Highlight  STATE   on the left UOL_JCPx.TXT table, Highlight  STATE  on the right Address Book Table, then click  CONNECT

* Highlight  POSTAL_CODE   on the left UOL_JCPx.TXT table, Highlight  POSTAL/ZIP CODE  on the right Address Book Table, then click  CONNECT

* Highlight  COUNTRY   on the left UOL_JCPx.TXT table, Highlight  COUNTRY  on the right Address Book Table, then click  CONNECT

* Highlight  LOCATION_ID on the left UOL_JCPx.TXT table, Highlight  LOCATION ID on the right Address Book Table, then click CONNECT

* Highlight  CB_OFFICE_WORLDSHIP   on the left UOL_JCPx.TXT table, Highlight  CONSIGNEE BILLED  on the right Address Book Table, then click  CONNECT

 

 

* Highlight CUST_ID on the left UOL_JCPx.TXT table and click DEFINE KEY button

* Click PRIMARY TABLE button

* Highlight COUNTRY on the left UOL_JCPx.TXT table, Highlight COUNTRY on the right Address Book Table, then click EDIT

* Click the TRANSLATIONS button

* Highlight COUNTRY and click OK

* Click OK

* Click OK

* Click YES to begin the Batch Import

* Verify JCP is highlighted

* Verify SHIP TO is checked

* Click NEXT

* Click a dot into the round radio button next to OVERWRITE EXISTING RECORDS

* Click a check mark in the DO NOT USE ADDRESS VALIDATION BUTTON

* Click NEXT

* Click SAVE

 

 

 

 

UPS WorldShip using XP Service Pack2 Operating Systems

* Start Computer

* Put import disk into disk drive

* Start UPS Online WorldShip

* Select   UPS ONLINE CONNECT   from the menu bar

* Highlight CUST_ID on the left UOL_JCPx.TXT table and click DEFINE KEY button
